From Alaska’s ice-cold rapids, Mexico’s warm-water chaos, and the long red miles of the Grand Canyon — everywhere I’ve been drawn to drag a boat and camera. This collection isn’t from one trip or one crew, that’s not how paddling works.

I see this sport as a story, paying attention to all the small details easily forgotten or overlooked.

The apprehensive tension at the put-in. The jittery anticipation of what uncertainty awaits downstream.
The roar of the water during a scout, the way the current feels through the hull, the blade slicing, perhaps the power of the current pushing against the face of the blade.

The post-rapid debrief with paddle partners, laughing at the close calls, celebrating the buttery-smooth ones that made the whole day worthwhile.

This isn’t about chasing the biggest drop.

It’s about chasing the feeling that hooks us, and keeps us coming back for more…

Water is the Constant
